‘Colors’ announced the launch of its new show Udaan in Delhi in the presence of Mahesh Bhatt, who has conceptualised the show.
Flagged off with a rendition of poetry by Rabindranath Tagore and Kaifi Azmi, the evening saw Raj Nayak talk extensively about the show — a heartwarming story that addresses the issue of bonded labour through the life of the free-spirited Chakor, played bySpandan Chaturvedi.
Also present were producers Guroudev Bhalla and Dhaval Gada, as well as actors Sai Deodhar-Anand (Chakor’s mother) and Sai Ballal, who plays zamindar Kamalnarayan Singh. Said Bhatt, “Through Udann, we hope to create advocacy for the liberation of women.”
The new show, Udaan is based on social issues like child labour and the struggle of a family. The plot of Udaan is based on a few children of the village located in “Uttar Pradesh, they are bonded as child labor in the hands of some greedy rich landlords of that village. The promo of the show is already on air.
According to promo of Udaan, poor couple are selling off few things to complete their basic necessity. Finally they need money to fund funeral then they go towards local landlord and ask what they could mortgage to take money in credit. Lady landlord tells poor pregnant woman that to trade her baby who is still in her womb to mortgage.
