Colors’ TV show Rangrasiya is all set to end the show by next month to make way for the popular reality show Bigg Boss’s new season.
It has poor TRP ratings. The show was just launched in December 2013. Recently, the makers introduced a seven-year time leap with Sanaya Irani, the protagonist — returning in a new avatar, but it didn’t help in increasing the viewership.
A source said, “Despite trying every trick, it has failed to rake in sustainable ratings.” While producer Saurabh Tewari did not comment, writer Raghuvir Shekhawat said, “We have not received any confirmation. It will depend on the next fortnight’s ratings.”
Rangrasiya, for the first-time, redefines hate while exploring the mystique of love. The show tried to break away from the cult of conventional soaps and sets out to negate all known perceptions of love.
Without any doubt, he most popular and controversial reality show in Indian television is Bigg Boss. It is inspired by Big Brother. Bigg Boss season 2 was aired on Colors. It gained lots of TRPs. Salman Khan has hosted four seasons of the reality show.
The show follows the Big Brother format, which was first developed by Endemol in the Netherlands. A number of contestants live in a house and are isolated from the rest of the world. A Bigg Boss House is built for every season. The House has no TV connection, no telephones, no Internet connection, clocks, pen or paper.
Contestants nominate two of their peers for eviction every week. The contestants who receive the most nominations would face a public vote. Out the nominated contestants, one would eventually got evicted from the House. However, there were exceptions to the process as dictated by Bigg Boss.
