Akshay Kumar with his wooden beads

Action hero of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar is very much concern about the fitness. He comes with a martial arts background and is agile and much disciplined.

He works hard towards it and doesn’t cheat with repetitions. He always goes to the gym within ten minutes of his waking up. His trainer tells us from Abu Dhabi, where he has been shooting for Neeraj Pandey’s Baby, “Sir is not a faffer at all. It doesn’t matter whether you are a big person or small, he doesn’t waste anyone’s time. He respects everybody’s time and makes the most of every training session. He trains early morning for 2 hours, then shoots action through the day at such high temperatures on the desert and then returns again to train on boxing for his next film every night for an hour-and-a-half.”

Akshay is currently practicing new kind of fitness training which is called ‘Wooden Beads’ which he has bought from Singapore. Talking to us, he said, “These are 50 wooden beads that can go up to 175. My 50 beads weigh about 2-3 kilos. These are specific for core training. You can get the beads to go around correctly only if you use your inner strength and not by throwing around. Since I do so much action, I need to protect my spine for which the strongest part of my body has to be my core. I do upto 5-10 minutes at one stretch with 1-2 minutes on the neck, as it is very difficult to breathe that time. This workout strengthens my bones and has no side effect. It beats your fat, stimulates your blood flow and trains your inner core. If you do it wrong, the beads will drop. It works your cardio, so when you finish, it tones you up from the inside out.”
