The Ajmer resident, who is the headmistress of a school, recently won `25 lakh on the current season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Dev says, “It was unbelievable that I was sitting in front of legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan. I was so much in awe of him that it took me a while to digest it. Sensing my nervousness, he told me, ‘Aap please ekdum comfortable ho jayein, hum show tab tak nahi shuru karenge jab tak apki nervousness khatam nahi ho jaati’. He is a gentleman and even spoke to my 9-year-old son Praakhar on the phone on my request.”
Dev works as the headmistress of a school in Hingtada, which is 80km away from Ajmer. Giving credit to her profession for her win, she says, “It was my job as a teacher that helped me win such a huge amount. Bachchon ko padhate-padhate meri taiyaari ho gayi thi.” But none of her students were aware of her achievement in the beginning. “We were told not to share it without an official announcement by the channel. I had been desperately waiting for the show to be aired. Still, a few days ago, some people got to know and the news spread like wildfire. Since then, I have been getting so many calls and congratulatory messages,” she says.
