In the battle of Bang Bang Hrithik Roshan VS Salman Khan Kick, Hrithik Roshan is smiling right now. This is because despite mixed reviewsAMP (our reviewAMP), his film Bang Bang has earned Rs 100 crore in less than five days. What’s more, the film is still continuing to do well at the box-office in domestic and international markets.
Hrithik Roshan was quoted saying that he was extremely grateful for the love. He compared the feeling of praise to post-‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ and post-‘Dhoom:2. And here’s the interesting bit: he added that he was honestly surprised about how it broke the Krrish 3 and ‘Kick’s 1st day record, as Bang Bang wasn’t a solo release.
Kick was released on 25th of July this year. It was directed and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and it featured Salman Khan in the lead role. The film also did extremely well, breaking many domestic box-office records. It was declared a “Blockbuster” at the box office by Box Office India after its first week of release, going on to become the second highest grossing Bollywood film of all time in India, the seventh highest-grossing in overseas markets and the third highest-grossing Bollywood film worldwide.
Perhaps we are reading too much into this, but could it be that Hrithik Roshan is purposely targeting Salman’s most recent film? You can read how Salman Khan ignored Hrithik Roshan’s #bangbangdare hereAMP,. It has now been nine whole days and there is no response from Sallu Bhai to Hritik’s dare to paint a picture with a message. Will this escalate into a war between the two chiseled hunks of Bollywood?
Hrithik Roshan continued to gloat, saying, “Perhaps I expected a little less but Bang Bang has proven its mettle and now sky is the limit. My congratulations to the entire team and a big thank you to my audience!”
Katrina Kaif, too was very happy with the film’s performance at the box office. Thanking the audience and the entire unit, she is glad all the hard work has paid off and that everyone has been appreciated.
While Kick secured a total of Rs. 378 crore, Hrithik Roshan’s film is still minting money and could possibly bring in more money than Salman’s Kick. But the fact that it was mentioned by Hrithik Roshan, who has a history of mouthing off Salman leaves us wondering if this could spiral into something bigger. We believe competition is healthy and therefore in the battle of Bang Bang Hrithik Roshan VS Salman Khan Kick, we believe both are winners.
