Chennai, Oct 21 (IANS) Actor Naga Chaitanya-starrer Telugu romantic-comedy “Oka Laila Kosam” minted Rs.7.8 crore in first three days of its release, but couldn’t register bigger opening due to the aftermath of cyclone ‘Hudhud’ in Andhra Pradesh, says expert.
“The film minted Rs.7.8 crore worldwide in its opening weekend. Since most theatres in Visakhapatnam and a few neighbouring places still remain shut due to cyclone ‘Hudhud’, the film has lost big chunk of collections from these key areas,” trade analyst Trinath told IANS.
Directed by Vijay Kumar Konda, the film, which released Oct 17, also features Pooja Hegde, Suman and Ali in important roles.
Nearly 200 theatres still remain shut in the cyclone-hit areas in Andhra Pradesh.
“Most theatres in Visakhapatnam are shut due to lack of electricity. ‘Oka Laila Kosam’ couldn’t be released in maximum number of screens. It will take at least a week or two more for these theatres to start working again,” a Visakhapatnam-based distributor told IANS.
