Salman Khan has taken over Eid and Diwali to release his movies
Look at films like Bang Bang, Haider and Happy New Year this year. When you examine it from a business perspective, it becomes very obvious. Films releasing during holidays do better simply because people have time on their hands and are able to go see a 3 hour movie. With this in mind, Bollywood actor Salman Khan has a new release strategy for his films.
The super star has thought far ahead and has already booked Diwali and Eid for his upcoming starrers Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, Shuddhi and Sultan in 2015 and 2016.
Historically, it has always been a tussle between the 3 Khans of the Bollywood industry for the festive slot, but it looks like this time, Salman has pulled a fast one over Amir and Shah Rukh.
According to whispers in BTown, the weeks of Diwali and Eid next year have already been snapped up by the Dabang star.
He has pre-booked Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, directed by Sooraj Barjatya for the Diwali week and Bajrangi Bhaijaan directed by Kabir Khan for the Eid weekend next year.
According to sources, Eid has been the unspoken spot reserved for Salman Khan, while Shah Rukh always took over at Diwali and Amir at Christmas. Looks like this time, however, Salman is uping the stakes and has already booked all over SRK’s spot. How long before he begins to eye Christmas, as well?
