Salman Khan will support Indian Super League though he does not have a stake in it

  On Thursday, Salman Khan made it clear to the public that he does not have any stake or own any Indian Super League team. He, however, added that he lends his complete support in favor of Nita Ambani’s football grassroots program and would do what he could to support it. Salman Khan will vouch for Indian Super League

Elaborating on the ISL, he tweeted that his friend Dheeraj & Kapil Wadhawan had offered him a partnership in FC Pune City. However, because of his endorsement contracts with Thums Up and Suzuki, companies that conflicted with the League’s sponsoring companies,, it wasn’t possible for him to associate himself with FC Pune City.

Referring to his support for Chairperson of Football Sports Development, Nita Ambani’s football grassroots program, Salman wrote that he thought it would help shape the next generation of Indian footballers.

Wishing the League success, he said, “By creating ISL, IMG-Reliance and Star have put in place an important building block to put Indian football on the global football map”.

The Indian Super League will begin on October 12 this year and eight franchises will participate in the tournament.

The ISL will kick off with a high profile opening ceremony at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata. the first tournament is between Athletico de Kolkata and Mumbai City FC .

High rollers from Bollywood, cricket and the business world like Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar; and Mukesh and Nita Ambani are only a few names in the long and impressive guest list.
