Shah Rukh Khan promotes his upcoming movie, Happy New Year on a spoof show
Shah Rukh Khan has found a way to promote Happy New Year. Not many might think of him as a comedian, but Shah Rukh showed us his hilarious side when he promoted his upcoming movie which will release this October 23.
Currently going viral, the promotional video shows SRK speaking to Arnub – Arnub With An ‘U’ on a spoof show called Barely Speaking With Arnub. The spoof show has been modeled after a popular media personality and his show with the similar name.
The video features Shah Rukh, who expresses mock regret at meeting his host, cracks jokes at his own expense about his films and reacts most entertainingly when asked to provide contact numbers of his female co-stars; namely, Katrina, Anushka and Deepika.
For the finale, Shah Rukh further took a pot-shot at himself by re-enacting his reaction at the Wankhede Stadium, ripping up Arnub’s proposal script in which he is cast as the host’s father. In mock anger, the Bollywood star declares that he will never play a father, earning giggles from all who watch. The video is very funny and entertaining and is sure to rope in audiences for Happy New Year.
A while ago, Shah Rukh along with the cast of Happy New Year promoted the movie in what was called Slam! Tour, which included concerts around the United States of America. Recently, we also learnt he is promoting the show on Comedy Nights with Kapil and Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati along with all his co-stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah. However, due to the rivalry between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh, the superstar has ignored the Kick actor’s television show, Big Boss. Earlier, there were speculations that the two had called a truce and that SRK, who is trying everything he can to promote Farah Khan’s film, would appear in Big Boss 8, but unfortunately, this is not the case.
