Leading contemporary artist Subodh Gupta will Nov 18 receive the 2014 Dayawati Modi award for art, culture and education, the organisers said here Wednesday.
The Delhi-based artist uses stainless steel utensils like tiffin boxes and pans to create futuristic installations.
The award has been instituted by the Dayawati Modi Foundation for Art, Culture and Education in the memory of the wife of Padma Bhushan recipient Rai Bahadur Gujar Mal Modi, a noted industrialist and philanthropist.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs.2,50,000, a silver shield and a scroll of honour that would be presented to Gupta.
