Actress Asha Negi, a contestant of “Khatron Ke Khiladi – Darr Ka Blockbuster Returns”, says she wants to change the “cute little bubbly girl” image that people have about her, with some daredevilry in the forthcoming stunt-based reality show.

The 25-year-old, who has done serials like “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain”, “Pavitra Rishta” and “Ek Mutthi Aasmaan”, believes that her stint in the show will help her to experience her strengths and overcome her fear.

“Until now everybody has recognised me with cute little bubbly characters that I have played in various TV serials. But this time I want to change public opinion about me. ‘Khatron ke Khiladi’ will be a perfect platform for me to experience my strengths and overcome my fears,” Asha told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

Asha hopes she does not feel a sense of panic when she is asked to perform some challenging tasks on the show, which will be hosted by filmmaker Rohit Shetty. The show involves multiple celebrities who compete with each other by involving in dangerous stunts and tasks that can range from eating insects and jumping off scary heights.

In preparation for the show, Asha has even tried to learn how to swim so that she can overcome her fear of water.

Asked about her strategy for the show, Asha said: “I am going with a strategy that I would not panic doing any of the tasks. I’ll try being calm and improve my mental strength. I have also learned swimming because I didn’t know how to swim.”

Any task which she had seen in the previous seasons and is afraid of?

“I am scared of all the tasks. But there will not be any task where I will be saying ‘oh my god! I can’t do this’. I have fear of water, height, cockroaches, rats, snakes and all such creepy things. I’ll try to do each and every task in hand with perfection.”

The TV star, whose partner Rithvik Dhanjani was seen in “Dare 2 Dance”, a show of a similar genre, says that he has given her a lot of tips and tricks for her stint in “Khatron Ke Khiladi”.

“He told me how to get underwater. The only thing that’s not good in me is the turmoil (in my head). Rithvik has asked me to go into the show, and kill it,” she said.

Besides Asha, other celebrities who have been roped in for the show include Sana Khan, Ashish Chaudhary, Sagarika Ghatge, Iqbal Khan, Archana Vijaya, Meiyang Chang, Nathalia Kaur, Hussain Kuwajerwala, Rahsmi Desai, Siddharath Bharadwaj and Riddhi Dogra.

The show will be shot in Cape Town, South Africa and will be aired in January 2015 on Colors.
