C.I.D. (Crime Investigation Department) is an Indian crime detective series telecasted in Sony Entertainment Television Asia. Marathi theatre veteran, Shivaji Satam, who plays ACP Pradyuman, had worked with B.P. Singh on many projects before joining C.I.D.Dayanand Shetty (Daya) was spotted by Sanjay Shetty, a member of the C.I.D. production team. Aditya Srivastava who portrays Abhijeet, was introduced in the show as a criminal but was later added into the C.I.D. team.

CID is the longest running television series in India, having completed seventeen years in 2014.
Due to the popularity of the show, SET has decided to give their viewers a chance to enjoy the series thrice a week. From 11 April 2014, the channel exclusively dedicate the show from Friday-Sunday in the time slot of 10 PM IST to 11 PM IST.
