Yudh starring Amitabh Bachchan
Amitabh Bachchan’s TV show Yudh has finally hit the television screens yesterday. As the saying goes -’First impression is the best impression.’, we tell you if you should watch more of Big B’s acting debut on the small screen or just put a full stop after the first episode…
Yudh is more like Western TV shows because like the American shows, not much of the plot is revealed in the first episode of Yudh.
But the story goes like….Yudhishtir Sikarwar (played by Big B) is a man many believe to be invincible. He is a successful construction magnate, who has built his empire without compromising his integrity and principles. This resulted into rivalry between Tigmanshu Dhulia, who plays a politician and Kay Kay Menon, who is seen as a corrupt police commissioner. Others are equally eager to bring him down. While he has to deal with evils in his professional life, his personal life is also not going smooth. Yudhistir suffers from a psychological disorder, which can’t be treated. Due to the psychological disorder, he sees normal people dressed as clowns, which is kind of funny. Probably, it will be one of the main highlight of the show.
Twists don’t ends here. He has two wives. The first wife is named Gauri, played by veteran actor Sarika, with whom he has a daughter Taruni (Aahana Kumra) and his second wife Nayantara (Ayesha Raza). From Nayantara, Yudhistir has a son named Rishi (Pavail Gulati). In such situations, one can expect a lot of conflict in the upcoming episodes. So how he manages to tackle his professional and personal problems and whether or not he wins forms the story.
Big B portrayed beautifully the role of an elite business. He brings the right kind of emotions.The show has a very cinematic feel to it and is high on production value.The star cast of Yudh is quite good. It has some brilliant performances by Kay Kay, Tigmanshu, Mona Vasu (Yudh’s PR officer) and others. Each actor fits the character and does justice. The story line of the show is quite realistic excluding Yudhister’s psychological disorder. The screenplay is quiet slow and dim light was used a lot which looks great. No high score background music was used.
If you liked the first episode, then of course, you should continue watching it. For those, who didn’t like it, watch the second episode and decide. It is going to be one of most popular fictional Indian show of 2014.
