Comedy Nights With Kapil, was recently in Dubai for a live shoot of the show. The cast and crew of the comedy show were in Dubai for a 2 hour long live episode, which will soon be aired on TV, with some editing, of course.
Nothing is off limits for Kapil Sharma, who brought his brand of caustic comedy to the UAE for the first time on Friday at Dubai World Trade Centre.
The 33-year-old with a cherubic face took a swipe at everyone and everything Indian and was indiscriminate towards gender, geography or marital status as he propelled 4,000-plus crowd to guffaw and whistle for over three hours.
His every joke and every jibe were lapped up by thousands of his fans, who even chanted his name like he was a Bollywood superstar and his entry to the stage would put any rocktar to shame as he danced and sang to Yamma Yamma and I am Disco Dancer.
It packed in concerts (singer Shaan and Mika Singh were in charge of live performances), glamour (actress Bipasha Basu appeared on stage to plug her latest film Creatures 3D), conflict (his ferocious and highly entertaining duels with his on-screen nagging wife Manju Bittu Sharma) and tons of sardonic humour. But like most films, the show which began at 9.05pm and went on till 1am would have benefited from tighter editing.
