Deepika Padukone, after project Happy New Year is looking forward to working in Bajirao Mastani.

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bajirao Mastani is an upcoming Hindi period romance film. it is based upon the love story of Maratha Peshwa Baji Rao I and his second wife Mastani. The film’s lead roles will be played by Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.

Furthermore, she said she felt very comfortable around Priyanka as they had known each other for a long time. “I have known Priyanka since I was a nobody; she was one of the top actresses at that time. I knew her through common friends when I wasn’t even in the modelling industry. We have gone out together. I have been to her house. Even today, I am very comfortable around her,” said Deepika.

It is always great when Bollywood beauties get along well. It looks like the harmony between the two will make things easier for everyone and make the making of the movie a breeze. This is the first time Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are working together. Deepika and Ranveer, however were seen together in Finding Fanny and are rumored to be in a relationship. Ranveer will be playing the role of Baji Rao; Deepika Padukone will have the role of Mastani, the second wife and Priyanka Chopra will play Kashibai, the first wife.

The release date for Bajirao Mastani is set on December 25, 2015.
